The Cuban Ambassador to Ghana, Pedro Luis Despaigne González, and the First Secretary, Julio César Sánchez, participated in an Online Forum, in commemoration of Africa Day organized by the All-African People's Revolutionary Party (A-APRP), and in which Fernando Gonzalez Llort, Hero of the Republic of Cuba and President of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with Peoples (ICAP), made a special presentation, highlighting the close ties between the Cuban people and its African brothers, and to Africa's solidarity with Cuba at a time when the current US administration reinforces the blockade and the aggressions.

The participants in the Event, representing different countries and organizations, after paying tribute to the founders of pan-Africanism, and highlighting the role of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah in the liberation of the continent, recognized the contribution of the children of Cuba to the liberation of the continent and paid tribute to Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro and Commander Ernesto Ché Guevara, who they described as pioneers of the internationalist work of the Cuban people. For their part, the members of the Embassy in Ghana thanked the solidarity expressions with Cuba in the fight against the blockade, by the organizations and personalities present in the networks on 25th May.

The A-APRP granted the “Black Star” Award to the “Henry Reeve” Contingent, and to the Latin American School of Medicine, for their contributions to the development of the health system in Africa. Those Awards also recognizes the legacy of the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution. The Event confirmed that even in the conditions of Covid-19, solidarity with Cuba is still alive.
