With the triumph of the Cuban Revolution in January 1959 also came the great confrontation with the United States government. Not with the American people but with the overseers of the rich of the world, because the American government is only a submissive employee of capitalist economic power.
Since the beginning of the Cuban Revolution, the United States government expressed concern about the course of the Cuban process, as demonstrated by declassified memoranda from several high-level meetings of the American government. At a meeting of the US National Security Council in Washington, on December 23, 1958 (a week before the revolutionary triumph), the president (Eisenhower) asked if the State Department had asked the Department of Defense to study military actions that could be necessary in Cuba. The shadowy CIA chief Allen Dulles wondered why the United States should try to prevent a Castro victory. Dulles said there was a sense that Castro was backed by extremely radical elements. The vice president (Nixon) noted that it would be undesirable to risk communist domination of Cuba, which had one of the largest communist parties in the hemisphere in proportion to population. Later at a meeting on “The Future of Our Relations with Cuba” on September 18, 1959 it would be noted: We in the Department have hoped that the Cuban revolution will result in changes that are acceptable and that we can continue with the same basic relationship with Cuba. Cuba than before... The basic question about the Cuban revolution is whether it represents a fundamental change or is simply a temporary change. By the end of 1959 the concern was clear: If the Cuban Revolution is a success, other countries in Latin America and perhaps elsewhere will take it as a model.
Radicalization against the revolution crystallized from the beginning of 1960 when the future policy of the United States Government was being elucidated not towards Cuba, but against Cuba. On April 6, 1960, Lester D. Mallory (1904-1994), Assistant Deputy Secretary of State for Inter-American Affairs, wrote in a memorandum declassified in 1991: “The majority of Cubans support Castro… the only foreseeable way to reduce their support internal is through the disenchantment and dissatisfaction arising from economic unrest and material difficulties... all possible means must be quickly employed to weaken the economic life of Cuba... a line of action that, while being as skillful and discreet as possible, achieves the greater progress in depriving Cuba of money and supplies, to reduce its financial resources and real wages, provoke hunger, desperation and the overthrow of the Government."
In 1963, President Kennedy materialized Mallory's project by signing the Trading with the Enemy Act (Act of 1917), which gave the president the power to restrict trade with countries "hostile" to the United States and the possibility of applying economic sanctions in time of war or in any other period of national emergency, prohibiting trade with the enemy or allies of the enemy during war conflicts. The blockade began. At the moment, Cuba is the only country in the world that is still sanctioned under this law.
This vile way of reducing Cuba's financial resources and real wages, causing hunger and desperation in order to overthrow the Revolutionary Government has become more sophisticated over time through other laws and administrative regulations, such as the Foreign Assistance Law. (1961), the Export Administration Act (1979), the Export Administration Regulations (1979), the Torricelli Act (1992), and the Helms-Burton Act (1996) and the inclusion of Cuba in the list of countries that sponsor terrorism (1982-2015; 2021-present), which leads to more economic sanctions.
The Cuban-American bourgeoisie, anti-communist by nature, has been established in Miami since the 1960s and has accumulated not only economic power, but also political power. This bourgeoisie is the most faithful ally of Mallory's plan for historical reasons and economic interests.
Mallory's ideas have always had the CIA as a fundamental instrument, which has been in charge of orchestrating groups such as Operation 40 and all the Cuban counterrevolutionary organizations based in the United States, especially in Miami, all of them extreme right, characterized by his anti-communism, the terrorist language, the lack of scruples when it comes to his actions.
Mallory's idea: reducing Cuba's financial resources and real wages, causing hunger and desperation to thereby overthrow the Revolutionary Government, represents the essence of the United States policy against Cuba. The economic pressure on Cuba as a result of this policy has been constantly increasing over the years, especially since the fall of the USSR (economic ally of the Revolution), which has led to a worsening of the material conditions of the Cuban people, a situation which has led to demonstrations of discontent by groups of citizens, especially in periods of hardening of the situation in the country.
During the summer of 1994, a violent propaganda campaign was unleashed by all means and subversive actions to stimulate a climate of violence and insurrection against the revolution, as well as the promotion of illegal departures with the hijacking of boats and aircraft that caused accidents and the uncontrollable arrival of emigrants to the United States, which could provide the pretext to justify the so-called humanitarian military intervention. On August 5, from the morning hours, a climate of tension was perceived in the area of Havana's Malecón and surrounding streets of the Centro Habana municipality that led to acts of vandalism against stores, state facilities, means of transportation, representatives of the law and revolutionaries. in general. Faced with this situation, the Commander in Chief appeared at the center of the events and, as he himself said, that day he went to receive his quota of stones, but first he gave the final order to his escort and Minint forces and the FAR not to use firearms. According to eyewitnesses, the situation spontaneously reversed when Fidel arrived at the scene. From both sides, the cry was unanimous: Fidel, Fidel, Fidel!
The tightening of sanctions during the Trump government, the arrival of Covid, worsened the situation for the Cuban people. In 2021, the week before July 11, many “opponents of the Cuban government” began to demand “the need for a humanitarian corridor” to face the health crisis and basic supplies.” The Matanzas outbreak, related to the accelerated increase in new cases in the world, was the reason to promote #SOS Cuba. As a detail, it must be said that this campaign was launched without much success to try to sabotage the Cuban anti-blockade motion before the United Nations General Assembly in June of that year (the motion was approved by 184 of the 189 possible votes). On July 9, 10, 11, hundreds of registered accounts (they are accounts that are created automatically) were created simultaneously on Twitter within the #SOS Cuba campaign. These accounts were responsible for retweeting false information during the events of July 11 and the following days. Distorted news about alleged attacks on state institutions and offices of the Cuban Communist Party was spread on social networks. Manipulated films and unrelated photos were circulated. An attempt was made at an international level to create a distorted and magnified image of what happened in Cuba and an alleged wave of repression after July 11. That day there was looting of markets, vandalism and even an assault with knives against a police station, which unfortunately ended with the loss of a human life. Those guilty of violations of the law were arrested as required by articles 51, 54 and 56 of the Cuban Constitution. The social media organized for a war of political destabilization soon began to talk about a repressive wave. The neo-terrorists were calling for military invasion.
We see here again Mallory's central concept of reducing Cuba's financial resources and real wages, causing hunger and desperation in order to overthrow the Revolutionary Government, this time in the age of the Internet. Cuba was a victim of cyberwar, with the clear objective of destabilizing the revolutionary process and reversing it. The counterrevolution in its modern version has added to its arsenal of weapons the use of social media through its political agitators, using offensives on the networks and trying to develop a 4th generation war. The goals of the neo-terrorists were: to try to promote a revolt and urge an invasion.
62 years of economic war of the greatest economic power against a small country, leaves deep marks, Mallory's manual of reducing Cuba's financial resources and real wages, causing hunger, desperation to by this means overthrow the Revolutionary Government is felt and manifests itself again today. The difficult situation of our population, a consequence of the miserable blockade and deepened by the fall in purchasing power and inflation, undesirable and unforeseen results of the economic reorganization, culminated in new manifestations of discontent over the problems of electricity supply and problems with food. Such demonstrations occurred last weekend in Santiago de Cuba, Bayamo and Matanzas. On all four occasions the authorities appeared at the protest sites to discuss the situation and try to offer solutions. Soon anti-Cuban political agitators through social networks began their offensive trying to show an insurrection. Immediately afterwards, the Cuban-American bourgeoisie became present through its politicians, condemning and demonstrating, but above all, lying about the existing situation in Cuba. Of course the American government, swift and swift, issued a statement condemning the situation and recriminating the revolutionary government.
The manifestations of discontent are not coincidental. Although it is the entire people who suffer the consequences of the economic war designed by Mallory: of reducing Cuba's financial resources and real wages, causing hunger and desperation to thereby overthrow the Revolutionary Government, it is not all the people. the one who goes out to the streets to demonstrate. They are small groups of compatriots who come out to express their discontent. Unfortunately, these compatriots do not direct their protests against the cause of so much suffering. Yes, if it is not clear, the main cause of so much suffering for the Cuban people is the government of the United States, together with the Cuban-American bourgeoisie, who use their cyber neo-terrorists orchestrated by the tropical Trumpist Jansson Miller, communications strategist of Trump, architect of the offensives on the networks and the development of 4th generation warfare. They want to overthrow the Cuban government by plunging the Cuban people into hunger and despair!!! And they want to show the world a false reality of Cuba, blaming the revolutionary government for the problems that exist on the Island and thus hiding their crime. If you argue so much that our mistakes are the source of our sorrows, lift the blockade and let us fall alone! We will see over time how our town will be able to flourish.
The majority of Cubans continue working to move the country forward despite the difficulties and are aware that the fundamental origin of so much sadness is the blockade, which must end now!
The essence of the Cuban historical process is nothing more than the decision of national sovereignty, with absolute independence, under the premises of us, the Cubans, for the development and well-being of Cubans. We don't need lessons on how to do it.
Cubans for Cuba denounces once again the havoc that the blockade causes on our economy and our population. We demand that Mallory's central strategy which represents the essence of the United States policy against Cuba be eliminated. We demand that you stop trying to reverse the legitimate Cuban process by provoking hunger and desperation. Cease the interference and attempts to destabilize the country using as a pretext the difficulties that our people are going through, adversities that arise, essentially, from your hateful, criminal and immoral blockade.
