The regional vice-governor of Imathia, Mr. Konstantinos Kalaitzidis, received the Ambassador of Cuba in Greece, Aramis Fuente Hernández, who made, in recent days, a visit to that Region of Central Macedonia. The president of the Imathia Philologists Association, Mrs. Eugenia Cavalari, was also present.
During the meeting, which took place in a cordial atmosphere, both spoke about the close ties that unite the two peoples, and their common ideals of peace and independence. They also emphasized the interest in working together in order to promote links and exchanges in the commercial field and in sectors such as tourism, health and research.
The Ambassador highlighted the admiration of Cubans for Greece, for its history and culture and the love they profess for the Greek people, which is an enduring legacy of the apostle of Cuban independence, José Martí.
