Remembering the 70th anniversary of the assault on the Moncada Barracks in Laos.

Vientiane, July 26. Friendship as an essential element of the ties between Cuba and Laos, and common histories, were highlighted in this capital by friends of the Friendship Association on the occasion of commemorating the 70th anniversary of the assault on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes Barracks.

As  it is traditional, the celebration of the Day of National Rebellion was a reason to highlight the heroic action led by Fidel and a group of revolutionaries and the validity of the thought of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution when he declared that Moncada was the small engine that made to go to the Revolution. Fidel Castro's political career is a benchmark for present and future generations due to his extraordinary legacy and conviction to fight against adversity, in the foreground the unjust, illegal and longest blockade in history.

Fidel said that ¨the people will be able to disappear from the face of the Earth, but what they will never be able to do is defeat them; because our people, with their shame and their greatness, are an invincible people (...)¨. This was demonstrated by the action of Moncada that takes effect in the very work of the Cuban Revolution.
