Renowned Grenadian jurist Ruggles Ferguson, King’s Counsel, recently denounced on Meaningful TV Grenada the responsibility of the United States for the difficult situation Cuba is facing.
Ferguson pointed out that the measures imposed by Washington have deepened the island’s energy and economic shortages, limiting access to basic resources and directly affecting the daily lives of Cubans. The jurist stressed that Caribbean solidarity must be firm and visible in the face of these external pressures.
U.S. hostility toward Cuba has manifested for more than six decades through economic sanctions, trade restrictions, and diplomatic pressures. These actions have caused food shortages, difficulties in the health system, and limitations in energy development.
Ferguson’s denunciation comes within the framework of the solidarity campaign with Cuba promoted in Grenadian society between April 14 and May 14, 2026. This initiative, coordinated by Citizens for Cuba, mobilizes churches, trade unions, schools, and civil organizations to raise funds and resources for Cuba.
