WHEREAS the rapprochement that has been developed between the Cuban Administration and the Obama Administration of the USA has come to an end
AND WHEREAS the current authorities in the USA have renewed the unilateral sanctions on Cuba
AND WHEREAS this constitutes a point of friction within the region and with potential for increased conflict and disharmony within the region
AND WHEREAS the unilateral sanctions undermine the stability of the Caribbean Region and constitute an impediment to regional growth and progress;
BE IT RESOLVED THAT on the occasion of its 80th Anniversary, we the Delegates of the Peoples National Party renew the call for removal of the Economic Blockade and Sanctions on Cuba and restoration of improved cooperation and harmony within the region.
