The Cuban Ambassador, Mr. Pedro Luis Despaigne González, visited the headquarters of the Ministry of Health of Ghana where he held a working meeting with the Minister, Mr. Alexander Segbefia.
Both sides pointed out the steps that have been taken to reestablish the medical cooperation in Ghana and also recognized the good state of cooperation for the academic services that Cuba offers to about 250 young Ghanaians who are currently studying Medicine and other related careers on the island.
In the meeting also participated the Director General of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Afisah Zakariah, the National Coordinator of Health Collaboration with Cuba, Dr. Hafez Adam Taher, and the Legal Adviser of the Ministry of Health. The Cuban ambassador was accompanied by Dr. Ana Lubín García, head of the Cuban Medical Brigade in Ghana.
