Ricardo Cabrisas Ruiz concludes his visit to Türkiye

This morning, Wednesday, March 13, Deputy Prime Minister Ricardo Cabrisas Ruiz concluded his official visit to Türkiye with working meetings with H.E. Mr. Mehmet Simsek, Minister of Finance and Treasury, and H.E. Mr. Mehmet Fatih Kacir, Minister of Industries and Technology.
In the meetings held by the Cuban Deputy Prime Minister with the Ministers of Finance and Industries, the existing potential for the development of economic and commercial ties between the two parties was confirmed, as well as the signing of the Agreement for the Elimination of Double Taxation and the Agreement for the Reciprocal Protection and Promotion of Investments respectively, which are important legal instruments that will complete the legal framework for the deepening of economic, commercial, financial and cooperation relations, as well as investments between the business sectors of both countries. Senior executives of the aforementioned institutions seconded their heads during the dialogues with the Cuban visitor.

Subsequently, Vice Prime Minister Cabrisas held a meeting with Mr. Serkan Kayalar, President of the International Cooperation and Coordination Agency of Turkey (TIKA), with whom he discussed ongoing cooperation projects in the sectors of agriculture and renewable energy sources. For his part, the President of TIKA reiterated the decision to work on the prioritized projects approved for Cuba and reiterated his willingness to examine the inclusion of new projects of our interest. He concluded that the implementation of projects with Cuba is an expression of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's will to boost economic and cooperation relations with our country.

At the end of his working visit to Turkey, Cabrisas held a friendly meeting with H.E. Mr. Fuat Oktay, Chairman of the Foreign Relations Commission of the Turkish Parliament and former President of the Republic. The meeting ratified the political will of both governments to work to deepen and develop bilateral economic, commercial and financial ties. Likewise, the decision to work on strengthening inter-parliamentary relations in all spheres, including economic ones, was also expressed. Finally, the Cuban Deputy Prime Minister invited him to pay a visit to Cuba in 2024. Fuat Oktay pledged to make efforts to visit our country in the course of the current year.
The Cuban Ambassador to Turkey, Dr. Alejandro F. Díaz Palacios, and Oscar Redondo Ramos, First Secretary of the Cuban Embassy in Ankara, participated on the Cuban side.
