The roots of caguairán
His concept of Revolution is present in every action. And it is not that we only learn it by heart, but that we know how to internalize and make it the battle flag of each day
CUBA, November 23, 2017.- You are there, planted in a monolithic rock with caguairan roots. In that city to which you gave the «Thank you Santiago». Together with Martí, Carlos Manuel de Céspedes, Mariana Grajales. Protected by the fighters of November 30 headed by Frank País. With those who accompanied you in the Moncada. You are next to the people who come every day to pay homage. Next to the pioneer girl who when she puts a white flower lets out some innocent tears.
We have lived the last 365 days without your physical company Fidel. But it has been at the same time, a year multiplied to infinity, where we have all felt you present in each work that was raised with your ideas and even with your hands, - those that Guayasamín painted -, because they are pure expression of your indomitable character .
We feel you every minute and second of our days and we always remember you with your olive green uniform as an identity of rebellion and courage.
We read and reread your speeches, your reflections. You are a must for a people that transcends our borders and extends throughout Latin America and the world.
When speaking of Solidarity, in capital letters, everyone identifies it with Fidel. From the disabled in the Ecuadorian jungle, or the Bolivian indigenous, the Venezuelan who regained his sight and his life. In Haiti you are a symbol and you do not need to speak Spanish to say Fidel when it comes to Cuba. Africa all reminds you. For the whole planet you are present because we all know how much you still need to do.
We have been hundreds of thousands who during this first year visited that sanctuary of history and life, which is the Santa Ifigenia Cemetery, in Santiago de Cuba.
There, I am sure, the immense majority, besides depositing a flower for the Commander, we have "talked" with him; We have asked him, we realize how his work is going, the difficult but sure work that he taught us to build and that we are committed to taking care of it and making it better.
His concept of Revolution is present in every action. And it is not that we only learn it by heart, but that we know how to internalize and make it the battle flag of each day.
They have also come to pay tribute to the Commander of Heads of State, Government, ministers, leaders of political parties and many other people who admire him, coming from Africa, Latin America, Asia and Europe.
Now, Fidel, you complete your first year in another dimension, accompanied by Martí. From the Apostle you would describe as "the most brilliant and the most universal of Cuban politicians."
«And what else did Martí do to make the revolution but to organize the party of the revolution, to organize the party of the revolutionaries? And there was only one party of the revolutionaries! " Thus you always remembered that great man of our history.
On October 14, 1991, when you referred to the physical fall of José Martí, in the speech delivered at the closing of the Fourth Congress of the Communist Party of Cuba, held at the Plaza General Antonio Maceo, in the Hero City of Santiago de Cuba , you expressed: «You, Marti, you were never defeated the day you fell in Dos Ríos !, and for you, for your example, for your death, today there are millions of Cubans willing to follow suit, willing to defend ideas , and ready to die, just as you did, to save freedom, to save justice, to save the honor and decorum of men; because without honor and without decorum there can be no life, nor does life matter, nor do we want life; Without honor and without decorum, life does not matter, nor do we want life, not only our own, but even that of all those we love. Without honor, without decorum, without independence and without dignity, it is nothing a people, no matter the life of a people! "
Now very close to the monolithic rock from where the Commander guides us, monuments have been planted with the inert bodies of Mariana Grajales and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes.
Of the mother of the Maceo and of "all Cubans," Fidel had said on August 23, 1960, that "Cuba may feel fortunate in many things, but among them, the first of all, because of the magnificent people it has. Here not only do men fight; Here, like men, women fight. (...) And it is not new, and history told us about great women in our struggles for independence, and one of them symbolizes them all: Mariana Grajales "... the one who said to the youngest son:" Empínate, para that you are going to fight also for your country! ».
In the same way, Carlos Manuel de Céspedes, the Father of the Homeland, is close to Fidel and Martí, in a logic of historical continuity.
«What does it mean for our people on October 10, 1868? What does this glorious date mean for the revolutionaries of our country? It simply means the beginning of a hundred years of struggle, the beginning of the revolution in Cuba, because in Cuba there has only been one revolution: the one begun by Carlos Manuel de Césp
"There is, of course, no doubt that Cespedes symbolized the spirit of the Cubans of that time, symbolized the dignity and rebellion of a people - still heterogeneous - that was beginning to be born in history."
It was these words of Fidel that summarize his encompassing thought of a history that can not be limited to a combat, to a victory, but defines the very path of the work that is being erected.
In those more than one hundred years of struggle for a free and independent Cuba, men and women like Marti, Maceo, Mariana Grajales, Carlos Manuel de Céspedes and many other initiators of that Revolution continued and carried on until the triumph of Fidel and the combatants of the Sierra and the cities and that is present, never to be lost, from the 1st. January 1959. (Cubaminrex-Granma)
