The Saint Lucian TV channel, "DBS", broadcasted in its primetime on the night of October 30, 2017, the interview with the Cuban ambassador in Saint Lucia, Jorge Soberon, about the vote on the draft resolution entitled "Need to put end to the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States of America against Cuba", which will take place next Tuesday, November 1, within the framework of the 72nd Session of the General Assembly of the United Nations (UN). During the televised exchange, the human and economic damage caused by this policy for almost 60 years, valued at 130 billion dollars, was highlighted. Mention was also made of the fact that a clear majority of US citizens and residents in that country are opposed to the blockade, as well as the support received from the international community through 25 consecutive votes that have taken place, given the violation of international law and of the UN Charter that implies that obsolete policy that must be eliminated completely, immediately and unconditionally.
