“San Ernesto nace en la Higuera” screened at the Freedom Centre, in Accra.

Accra, June 14, 2022. - The documentary “San Ernesto nace en la Higuera” (Saint Ernest is born in La Higuera) kicked off a discussion on the life and work of Ernesto Che Guevara at the Freedom Centre in Accra this evening.

 

Dr Kwesi Pratt Jnr, General Secretary of the Socialist Movement of Ghana and historic leader of Solidarity with Cuba was the moderator and the keynote speaker was Hon. Kofi Attor, Vice Chairman of the NDC, former Member of Parliament and Senior Advisor at the Speaker's Secretariat.

 

The event was attended by members of the communist parties of Zambia, Congo Kinshasa, Cote D'Ivoire and Benin, as well as members of the Socialist Movement of Ghana, teachers of different nationalities of the Amilcar Cabral School; and counted with the presences of the Cuban Ambassador to Ghana, Anette Chao García; the Ambassador of the State of Palestine, Abdulfattah Ahmed Khali Alsattari and the Chargé d'Affaires of the Saharawi Republic, Sidi Bachir. It was a propitious moment to highlight the virtues of Ernesto Che Guevara as an example to follow for his progressive ideas full of altruism, humility, internationalism and critical thinking. Likewise, support for the island of Cuba in all its battles for the respect of sovereignty and self-determination was also expressed.
