During the pleasant exchange with the Ministers and High Authorities on the advancement of women in the region, the Second Secretary of the Federation of Cuban Women (FMC) shared the progress achieved by Cuba. She described them as the result of the willingness of the Cuban State and Government to preserve the achievements of the Revolution in the area of gender.

In this regard, she detailed the main actions undertaken at the municipal, provincial and national levels, and explained the system of guarantees that the Cuban legal system offers to women and girls, including through the advanced Family Code, recently adopted by popular referendum.

The Cuban official called for continuing to reaffirm the region's commitment to gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls.
