Secretary General of the Danish United Nations Association visits the Embassy of Cuba in Denmark

The Ambassador Agree of the Republic of Cuba to the Kingdom of Denmark, Roger López García, received at the Embassy the Secretary General of the Danish United Nations Association, Torleif Jonasson.

During the meeting, they both discussed various aspects of the activity of the Danish United Nations Association (FN-forbundet, for its acronym in Danish), and Cuba's cooperation with the United Nations International Organizations, focused on the programs of I work with UNDP and UNICEF, based on our social-economic development goals and the implementation of the 2030 agenda.

In the friendly conversation, the Cuban diplomat explained the effects caused by the US blockade on Cuba and the large damages caused to the Cuban people. Jonasson praised our country's efforts to overcome its difficulties, and addressed the United Nations majority support for the resolution against the blockade last November.

The FN-forbundet Association is an NGO that aims to increase the understanding between nations and their joint responsibility for sustainable development. It has about 55 affiliated organizations, which make up a wide network of representatives of political parties; unions; educational organizations; of young people and women; humanitarian and international orientation. It is also made up of a group of parliamentarians from all the political parties of the Danish Parliament
