Vientiane, August 10, 2022. Renewed expressions of sympathy and solidarity are reiterated in the Lao People's Democratic Republic, this time its highest representative, the Secretary General of the People's Revolutionary Party and Lao President Comrade Thongloun Sisoulith, expressed his endearing friendship and deep regret to his Cuban counterpart Miguel Díaz-Canel, on the occasion of the unfortunate accident that occurred at the super tanker base in Matanzas, on August 5, which caused loss of human life and severe material damage to the Cuban government and people.
The Asian president conveyed the sorrow of the Party, Government and Lao people to his Cuban brothers, while recognizing and ratifying the trust in the leadership to face and overcome difficulties as well as ensure a return to normalcy in the short term.
