Secretary General of the World Federation of Trade Unions participates in a youth event in Cuba condemning the blockade.

Athens, November 25. The general secretary of the World Federation of Trade Unions (WFTU) George Mavrikus, intervened in the online event "Ideas that are flags", organized by the Communist Youth of Cuba.
In his words, the Greek trade union leader reaffirmed that the WFTU with its 105 million members, who live and work in 130 countries on all continents, welcomes the initiative of the event.
He assured that the WFTU will continue to strengthen its solidarity with the heroic Cuba and the Cuban youth until the final victory; until the end of the blockade, until the return of Guantánamo territory to Cuba, until the end of the slander and campaigns against Cuba. He stressed that for the WFTU Cuba is an ideal and a flag of pride, of resistance and internationalism, of humanity, of altruism and collective spirit, of optimism and perspective, an ideal and a flag of victory.
He added that this year marks the 75th anniversary of the life and action of the WFTU. That the WFTU has supported the award of the Nobel Peace Prize to the internationalist Cuban medical contingent Henry Reeve in recognition of the humanistic aid it provides to dozens of countries with its medical brigades. This campaign has been greeted with enthusiasm by all workers in many corners of the planet. For this internationalist help, he congratulated the leadership of the Communist Party of Cuba and the Cuban state, which raise the flag of the ideal of solidarity and social commitment.
He also added that the WFTU together with the heroic CTC (Central de Trabajadores de Cuba/Cuban workers central) will continue with common efforts so that new generations of workers study the history of social struggles in their countries, he said that they want young people who love education and knowledge, and, be true to the ideals of the working class. Emphasizing that it is a need for the working youth of every corner of the planet to gain knowledge of the experience of the Cuban revolution.
He told the Cubans that we are together, they are not alone in the fight against the blockade, in the fight for the return of the Guantanamo territory. He concluded with cheers to proletarian internationalism, revolutionary Cuba and the CTC.
