Geneva, Switzerland, May 21, 2025. José Ángel Portal Miranda, Minister of Public Health of Cuba, and Budi Gunadi Sadikin, Minister of Health of Indonesia, signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Bilateral Cooperation in the Health Sector within the framework of the 78th World Health Assembly, held in Geneva, Switzerland.
The agreed areas of cooperation include health services, maternal and child health and nutrition, health resilience including emergencies and therapeutic and diagnostic vaccines, the control of infectious and non-communicable diseases, such as tuberculosis, cancer, heart disease, stroke and urological diseases, HIV/AIDS, malaria, dengue fever, diabetes, as well as vaccination coverage, among other topics.
On this occasion, the ministers held a bilateral meeting where they discussed the possibility of working on joint research and treatments, especially for pediatric cancer, in the field of biotechnology products, and in healthcare services in general.
The signing of this Memorandum of Understanding is expected to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.
