Kingston, Jamaica, 20 November 2019. On 21 November, the Sixth Round of Cuba - Cayman Islands Migratory Talks will be held in Havana, Cuba. This time, the Cuban delegation will be led by Mr. Ernesto Soberón Guzmán, Director General of the Bureau of Consular Affairs and Cuban Residents Abroad from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba. The counterpart delegation will be joint headed by Mr. Matthew Forbes, Chief of Staff of the Governor of the Cayman Islands, and Mr. Michael Ebanks, Acting Chief Officer of the Ministry of Empoyment and Border Control.
Within the framework of the sessions, they will assess the migratory flow between Cuba and Cayman Islands and the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding on Migration Issues signed by both parties.
Likewise, the occasion will be conducive for considering new co-operation actions to favour a more regular, organized and safe migration as well as to strengthen the struggle against human trafficking and smuggling of migrants.
