Dili, October 4, 2026. At the GMN Multipurpose Hall in Bebora, the Secretariat of State for Cooperatives, led by its head, Arsénio Pereira da Silva, hosted a reception for participants in the Regional Conference on Cooperatives and the Ministerial Dialogue. On this occasion, the Secretary of State was accompanied by First Deputy Prime Minister Francisco Kalbuadi Lay. Both addressed the attendees of the event, which is being held in the country over three days.
The reception was attended by government representatives, leaders from the cooperative sector, representatives from the private sector, experts, and development partners present in Timor-Leste. The purpose of this meeting is to promote dialogue on the strategic role of cooperatives in economic and social development, strengthen cooperation between Timor-Leste and ASEAN member states, and provide a space to showcase products and services, establish contacts and partnerships, and explore new market opportunities.
During his remarks, First Deputy Prime Minister Kalbuadi acknowledged the presence of Cuban diplomat Alina Aldama and highlighted the bonds of friendship that unite them.
