The Socialist Forum of Ghana ratifies its solidarity with Cuba

The Cuban Ambassador to Ghana, Pedro Luis Despaigne González, attended the Political Event on the occasion of the 110 Anniversary of birth of the first President of the Republic of Ghana, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, which took place at the Freedom Center in Accra.

The main speaker of the event was the Convener of the Socialist Forum of Ghana (SFG), Kwesi Pratt Jnr., who during an intervention dedicated to the role of Dr. Nkrumah, in the history of Ghana, called to continue his legacy defending just causes such as the Cuban Revolution. The Ghanaian socialist leader, after paying tribute to Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro and Cuban internationalist fighters, strongly condemned the blockade against Cuba, and encouraged his country's progressive forces to mobilize to end that genocidal policy. The Convener of the SFG is part of the Ghanaian delegation that will participate in the 6th African Solidarity Meeting with Cuba in Abuja, Nigeria.

As part of the tribute, a photo exhibition was inaugurated, which included the historic meeting at the Hotel Teresa in New York, between Dr. Kwame Nkrumah and Commander in Chief Fidel Castro on 27th September, 1960.

Among the personalities attending were: Dr. Francis Nkrumah, son of the former President; Mrs. Hajia Hamdatu Ibrahim; acting Chairman of the Convention People’s Party (CPP); Mr. Bernah Mornah, Chairman of the National People's Convention (PNC); the professor Justice Henaku, General Secretary of the SFG; Mr. Moses Bukari Mabgengba, Vice Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC); the Ambassador of the State of Palestine, Mr. Abdulfatah Alsattari.
