In commemoration of the 90th birthday of Commander in Chief of the Cuban Revolution a political-cultural activity was held at the Freedom Centre in Accra. The activity is part of the tribute organized by the Socialist Forum of Ghana in coordination with the Embassy of Cuba.
Mr. Kofi Attor, Secretary of International Relations of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and President of the Cuba Solidarity Campaign; Mr. Alhaji Yahaya, former General Secretary of the NDC; Mr. Yaw Opoku, representative of the Socialist Forum of Ghana, who served as a teacher of young Ghanaians in the Isle of Youth and Mr. Kwesi Pratt (jnr), leader of the Socialist Forum of Ghana used the word in the event. All addressed various facets of the life and work of Commander in Chief, emphasizing its relationship with Africa and Ghana in particular.
The Cuban Ambassador, Pedro L. Despaigne González, thanked the organizers of the Program. He emphasized as the Revolution led by the Commander in Chief changed the lives of millions of Cubans, for who were open the free access to formerly forbidden services such as health and education.
In the activity there was presence of music through performance of Ghanaian artists who performed songs in greeting to Fidel's 90th birthday. The Staff of the Cuban Embassy participated in full.
