Solidarity association with Cuba in Malaysia ratifies of rejection of the blockade

Kuala Lumpur, April 29 - The friendship association with Cuba in Malaysia held the 9th General Assembly on April 27.

During the assembly, Selangor's former chief minister, Tan Sri Khalid, was welcomed as honorary Chairman. In his speech of appreciation, he pointed out the need to support Cuba more and more because in doing so, it defends the independence of third world countries and international law.

Ambassador Ibete Fernandez thanked the work done by the association in 2018, which had a greater level of organization and coordination at the same time that it urged the solidarity group to be more proactive in the current situation in which the United States increases its attacks against Cuba with threats of application of the Helms Burton Act that intensifies the blockade.

The members of the association present voted to increase the membership of the organization and committed to elect one of its members to participate in the 9th regional meeting of solidarity with Cuba to be held in Nepal.

Mr. Fahmy Khai was ratified as President, Dr. Rajasimgam as Vice President and Mr. Charle Morera as Secretary.
