Solidarity container from Greece to Santiago de Cuba

The Hellenic Cuban Association of Friendship Venceremos from Kalamata, Greece, sent a container with varied aid to Santiago de Cuba.
Andreas Haikalis , president of the Association, declared before the media and TV Messogio de Kalamata, that this gesture constitutes a historic milestone in this type of solidarity aid in that Greek city of the Peloponnese with the people of Cuba and a way to break the criminal US economic, commercial and financial blockade against Cuba.
The Cuban ambassador to Greece, Zelmys Maria Dominguez Cortina, present along with her friends in Kalamata, thanked the great important effort made by the friends of Cuba. She explained the effects of the blockade and the will of the Cuban people to resist. In addition, she pointed out how Cuba, with its scientists and its public, free and universal health system, was able to face the pandemic with its own vaccines and medicines, with the creation of five vaccine candidates -three of them already used as vaccines to the population-, to face the COVID 19 virus. More than 90% of the Cuban population is already fully vaccinated. In addition to the fact that Cuba is the first country with a pediatric vaccine for children between 2 and 18 years of age, with excellent results. She also highlighted Cuban internationalist solidarity in confronting the COVID-19 pandemic, when around 60 medical brigades from the Henry Reeve contingent have provided their services in numerous countries.
