Athens, February 20. The Hellenic Cuban Association of Friendship with Cuba in Athens, organized an important act of solidarity with Cuba to celebrate the 63rd anniversary of the triumph of the Cuban revolution. The ambassador of Cuba Zelmys María Domínguez Cortina; Takis Varelas, painter; Nikos Karandreas, president of the association and Eleni Papagiorgiou, doctor at the Evangelismos hospital took the floor. At the end, the documentary "The strength of a country" about Cuban vaccines, subtitled in Greek, was screened.
The speakers highlighted the condemnation of the genocidal US economic, commercial and financial blockade against Cuba, the history of struggle and resistance of the Cuban people, the development of medicine and science in Cuba, and the confrontation with the pandemic with Cuban vaccines, among other topics. The painter Takis Varelas exhibited the works that he dedicated to Cuba, whose sale in a special album entitled "Cuba is not alone", will be donated to Cuba.
Members of the Cuban Embassy, representatives of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) and other political forces, as well as members of the Association were present.
