Solidarity with Cuba in Nigeria: also from Abuja, bridges of love.

Nigeria, June 22, 2021.- Representatives of the Movement of Solidarity with Cuba in Nigeria visited the Cuban Embassy to deliver a letter addressed to the Nigerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and to the United Nations Office in Abuja, requesting the end of the criminal blockade unilaterally imposed by the Government of United States against the Cuban people.

Just before, the participants held a march from the headquarters of the Nigerian Labour Congress, main organized labour organization in the country, to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to deliver the letter asking the government to add its vote to the countries that tomorrow will support the Resolution against the blockade in the Assembly General of the United Nations. Nigeria has historicaly and consistently voted in favour of such Resolution.

Nigeria stands out among African countries for its historic solidarity with the largest of the Antilles, which includes the holding in the capital, Abuja, of the VI African Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba in September 2019.
