In the city of Konya, a solidarity activity took place organized by the Konya Teachers’ Initiative of the Assembly of People’s Representatives of Türkiye, together with the Asociación de Amistad Cuba-Türkiye José Martí, at Gedavet Park.
The initiative brought together teachers and committed citizens, who expressed their rejection of the blockade, the siege, and imperialist policies, as well as their support for peoples facing such practices. The event featured musical performances, poetry readings, an art exhibition, and a signature collection, demonstrating broad public support for these causes.
During the gathering, the value of the example of Cuba was highlighted, particularly in the field of education, underscoring the commitment of its teachers, who, even under adverse conditions, ensure the continuity of the educational process.
In this context, İlhan Şendil, a member of the organizing association, noted that despite existing challenges, Cuba maintains significant social achievements, especially in the protection of children, and called for greater international awareness of the need to ensure that no child anywhere in the world is left without a home.
The event also served as a platform to reaffirm the importance of international solidarity and support for peoples defending their sovereignty, emphasizing the conviction that the backing of the international community is essential in the face of policies of pressure and isolation.
The gathering concluded with a message of firm support and solidarity with peoples in resistance, highlighting the enduring relevance of solidarity as a fundamental principle in relations among nations.
