With the attendance of the KKE BP member Giorgos Marinos and other officials and MEPs of that Party, as well as leaders of the KNE Youth and a large audience, an event was held under the theme "Solidarity with the Island of the Revolution", in which, once again, the solidarity and friendship of the Greek people and its youth with Cuba and its heroic people was confirmed.
As is traditional in this important event of the Greek youth, which takes place every year in the Tritsis park in Athens, its young people and participants ratified their rejection of the economic, commercial and financial blockade that the United States maintains against Cuba and demanded that the island be removed from the illegitimate list of countries that supposedly sponsor terrorism.
At the event, Aris Evaggelidis, member of the Department of International Relations of the Central Committee of the KKE, who gave the opening speech, ratified the consistent position of the KKE, which has expressed its solidarity with Cuba in many ways for decades. This was also confirmed by the words of the KKE MEP Lefteris Nikolaou-Alavanos.
The Cuban ambassador in Athens, Aramis Fuente Hernández, and Suniel Sosa Cordero, member of the Department of International Relations of the Union of Young Communists of Cuba – UJC, also spoke at the meeting.
