Kingston, Jamaica, 9 January 2020. Leaders of the Solidarity Movement with Cuba in Jamaica reiterated their support to the Greatest Island in the Antilles, during a meeting with the Cuban Ambassador to this sister Caribbean nation, H.E Mrs. Inés Fors Fernández.

The defence of Cuba against the US government’s attempts to suffocate it economically through new measures to intensify the economic, commercial and financial blockade and against the campaigns to discredit the international cooperation that Cuba offers, continue to be at the centre of the Solidarity Movement’s work.

Under the premise that 2020 will be a year of great challenges, but also of great opportunities, all participants committed themselves to redouble their efforts to strengthen the movement by taking a greater cohesion and mobilization capacity of its members as starting points.

The meeting took place in a fraternal atmosphere and was attended by Professor Trevor Brown, President of the Cuba-Jamaica Solidarity Association; Dr. Lorenzo Gordon, acting President of the Association of Jamaican Graduates from Cuban Colleges; and Dr. Neville Graham, a member of the Boards of Directors of both organizations, among others.
