The "Sakis Karagiorgas" amphitheater at Panteion University in Athens hosted a solidarity rally with the peoples of Cuba and Venezuela, organized by the Popular Left Unity – Unsubdued.
In a moving and supportive atmosphere, the hundreds of participants who filled the hall rejected the criminal aggression carried out by the United States government against Venezuela and the growing threats it has been making against the Cuban people and their Revolution.
The rally, which also paid tribute to the dozens killed during the aggression and condemned the kidnapping of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores, began with speeches by the heads of the Venezuelan and Cuban diplomatic missions, who spoke about recent events and the struggle of their peoples.
Other speakers, such as Kostas Isychos, Vassilis Liosis, and Giannis Rachiotis, delivered powerful messages of solidarity and emphasized the importance of continuing and deepening the common struggle against imperialism and for peace. For their part, Manto Manoli and Orestis Befanis, young people who were part of the volunteer brigade that recently worked in Cuba, shared their experiences and reaffirmed the importance of solidarity between our peoples.
