Solidarity support in Ghana to the constitutional government of Venezuela

A representation of the Ghanaian graduates in Cuba organized a Press Conference at the Ghana International Press Center, in which the aggression plan orchestrated by the United States government against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela was denounced.

The Ambassadors/High Commissioner of Venezuela, South Africa, Angola and Cuba, Mrs. Belén Teresa Orsini Pic, Mrs. Lulu Xingwana, Mr. Augusto da Silva, and Pedro Luis Despaigne González, respectively, were present at the Conference.

The Venezuelan diplomat thanked the demonstration of solidarity with her country, and after making a historical explanation of the Bolivarian ideology that defends the government of the President Nicolás Maduro Moros, said that the war against Venezuela hides the interest to seize its huge natural resources. He also criticized the imperial interference in Venezuela, and the attempt to impose an illegitimate President not recognized by the majority of the States that constitute the international community.

The diplomats ratified the positions of their respective governments in favor of the legitimate President Nicolás Maduro. The Ambassadors of South Africa and Angola emphasized the common position adopted by the Southern African Development Community (SADC) against the war.

A representative of the graduates, Mr. Benjamin Anyagre, presented the Venezuelan Ambassador with a Declaration of Solidarity with Venezuela, condemning the plan of military aggression underway. Mr. Anyagre said that an imperial script was being repeated in Venezuela, followed in other countries such as Iraq, Libya, and Syria, where under the pretext of humanitarian assistance, there have been invasions and destruction of cities and the massacre of entire populations.

The assistants, among whom were the members of the Cuban Embassy´s staff, after pronouncing themselves in favor of the peace in Venezuela, signed the book Hands off Venezuela, in defense of the self-determination of the Bolivarian people.

The Press Conference was covered by nine Ghanaian media houses; including Metro TV and UTV television channels and the Ghanaian Times newspaper.
