Castries, January 31, 2019. The Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of Saint Lucia, Honorable Andy Daniel received the Ambassador of Cuba in this country, Alejandro Simancas Marin at his office in the House of Parliament. During the meeting, they discussed the importance of encouraging relations between the Parliaments of both countries, from the role of Parliamentary Forces in the boosting and development of bilateral relations. The Diplomat and the Leader of the Legislative Chamber agreed on the excellent level of relations between the two countries and their willingness to continue reinforcing the foundation of friendship and solidarity characterizing those relations. They also emphasized that this year will mark the 40th Anniversary since the establishment of bilateral relations and the Cuban Ambassador congratulated him on the occasion of the 40th Anniversary of Saint Lucia’s Independence this upcoming February 22nd.
