Speaker of the Maldivian Parliament received Cuban Ambassador

Colombo, October 7, 2025. The Speaker of the Majils  People's (Parliament), Hon. Abdul Raheem Abdullah, received the Cuban Ambassador to Sri Lanka and the Maldives, Andrés Marcelo González Garrido. They discussed bilateral relations.
During the meeting, which took place during an official visit by the Cuban ambassador to the Republic of Maldives, Raheem Abdullah highlighted the relations between the Cuban and Maldivian parliaments and friendship groups.
The ambassador expressed his gratitude for the Maldives' continued support for Cuba's resolution before the United Nations General Assembly against the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States against the Cuban people.
