Speaker of the Parliament of Ghana reaffirms his opposition to the blockade against Cuba

The Ambassador of Cuba to Ghana, Pedro Luis Despaigne González was received at the Ghanaian Parliament by its Speaker, Rt. Hon. Edward K. Doe Adjaho.

The Cuban diplomat transmitted to the higher parliamentarian of Ghana greetings sent by the President of the Cuban National Assembly of the People Power, Esteban Lazo Hernández. He explained the composition of the Cuban parliament, as well as the percent of female presence in it. He also reported on the existence of the Cuba-Ghana Parliamentary Friendship Group and the will of strengthen the relations with the Ghanaian counterpart.

Rt. Hon. Doe Adjaho stressed that always have existed good relations between our parliaments. He ratified his own position and of the Ghanaian Parliament against the blockade imposed on the Cuban people. He praised the support given by Cuba to the people of Ghana, primarily in the health and educational sectors. Finally he expressed to the Cuban Ambassador, that the island could continue counting on his support.
