Amason Jeffah Kingi, the Speaker of the Senate of Kenya, received the Cuban ambassador to Kenya, Inés Fors Fernández.
During the friendly and fruitful exchange, the Cuban diplomat and the head of one of the two legislative bodies of the African nation reviewed issues on the bilateral agenda and advocated for the strengthening and diversifying of interparliamentary relations.
The Cuban diplomat conveyed her appreciation to the Government of Kenya for its favorable vote on the Cuban resolutions against the blockade approved each year at the UNGA and offered details on the current complex situation in her country, as a result of the growing measures of pressure and economic asphyxiation imposed by the United States, especially due to the impact of the executive order signed by President Donald Trump on January 29.
Cuba and Kenya celebrated 30 years of diplomatic relations in 2025, which have been based on mutual respect and bilateral collaboration.
