Vientiane, January 10, 2026. Cuban Ambassador Enna Viant Valdes participated in a special artistic performance to celebrate the success of the XII National Congress of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and commemorate the 105th anniversary of the birth of President Kaysone Phomvihane, under the theme "Lao-Vietnam Friendship Song."
Attendees included Comrade Thongloun Sisoulith, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party; Comrade Nguyen Van Hung, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; high-ranking officials, former Party and State leaders, ambassadors, military and police personnel, and citizens of Laos and Vietnam, as well as a troupe of Laotian and Vietnamese literary artists.
Comrade Suansavanh Vinayaket, Member of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and Minister of Culture and Tourism, stated: “We congratulate the successful organization of the 12th National Congress of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, which concluded on January 8, coinciding with the preparations for the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, which will be inaugurated with great solemnity at the end of January 2026. This comes at a time when the people of both nations, Laos and Vietnam, are celebrating and reaffirming the importance and strategic significance of Lao-Vietnam relations, the great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation, and strategic partnership, as well as the 64th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and the 49th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Friendship and Comprehensive Cooperation between Laos and Vietnam.”
The special exhibition of Lao-Vietnamese art includes works that blend history and the present, reflecting the close and inseparable bond between the peoples of Laos and Vietnam, united by peace, independence, development, and prosperity.
