Authorities of the Ministry of Health and other institutions of the Government.
Dear graduates and Cuban Professors,
I would like to thank the Ministry of Health for having me as a guest at the first graduation for 47 Kenyan postgraduate students in Cuba, in the Comprehensive General Medicine speciality.
This graduation represents a landmark and a historic moment in the cooperation relations between the two countries, especially in the field of health.
You can be sure that our people and particularly your professors in Cuba will warmly remember the two years shared and that they will treasure for always the prints left by each of you.
For Cuba, the solidarity with the African peoples has always been one of the principles advocated since the revolutionary triumph, promoted by our historic leader Fidel Castro Ruz.
Parallelly, the support of the African peoples has always been present; an example of the unbreakable historic, cultural and friendly ties which bind Cuba to the African continent. As expressed by our Commander in Chief “The Cuban people, therefore, owe a debt to Africa that is increased by the heroic history we have shared.”
We ratify the willingness of our government to continue to enhance and diversify the friendly relations and cooperation with the brotherly country of Kenya, in those areas and sectors of mutual interest, among them the cooperation in the academic and health sector.
We wish all of you, Kenyan doctors, great success in your professional life and that you contribute with the daily effort to the projects implemented in the field of health by the Kenyan authorities for the benefit of their people.
In Cuba, you will always be remembered as children of our people.
