Wellington, July 31st, 2019. Ambassador, Mario Alzugaray Rodríguez held a profitable meeting with Sebastián Rodríguez, Executive Secretary of the South Pacific Regional Fisheries Management Organisation (SPRFMO), which is based in New Zealand.
During the exchange, Sebastian emphasized the excellent cooperation and dialogue between the Ministry of the Food Industry of Cuba and the RFMO-PS Secretariat, not only throughout the year but also during its annual meetings. He also highlighted Cuba's interest in South Pacific fisheries, the current situation of the organization in general and the arrangements and organization of the seventh meeting of the Scientific Committee to be held in Havana next October.
The Cuban diplomat thanked the information and update on the actions of Cuba in this organization while confirming the importance that the Island attaches to the sustainable use of fishery resources. (Embacuba NZ).
