Colombo, Aug 5 (Prensa Latina) The Sri Lankan Bolivarian Solidarity organization highlighted Fidel Castro's influence in the resurgence of the anti-imperialist trend sweeping Latin America and the rest of the world.
In a statement sent to Prensa Latina, its secretary Jeewantha Jayatissa, who recently traveled to Venezuela to witness the recent elections there, stated that Fidel Castro, the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, is one of the beacons of ideas for Venezuelan leaders.
Jayatissa also considered Cuba and Venezuela as guides for the peoples of other South American countries to strengthen the anti-imperialist camp and shape the political future of their nations.
Regarding the July 27 elections in Venezuela, Jeewantha Jayatissa celebrated the great victory of the Chavista movement in 285 of 335 local councils that included 23 of 24 state capitals.
