Sri Lankan President Received Cuban Ambassador

Colombo, October 2, 2024. The Ambassador of Cuba, Andrés Marcelo González Garrido, was received by the President of Sri Lanka Anura Kumara Dissanayake. During the meeting, he congratulated him on his victory in the last elections held on September 21 and conveyed a message from the Cuban President, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, in which he reaffirmed the will to continue strengthening the ties of friendship and cooperation between both countries.
The conversations also focused on strengthening long-term diplomatic relations and the lasting friendship between the two nations.
Cuba and Sri Lanka celebrated 65 years of the establishment of diplomatic ties on July 29, 2024.
Present at the meeting were G.G.S.C. Roshan, Additional Senior Secretary to the President and Maribel Duarte González, First Secretary of the Cuban Embassy.
