Sri Lankan Socialist Youth Union rejects the blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba

SRI LANKA, October 9, 2019. - During the 52nd Anniversary of the fall in combat of Che, the National Coordinator of the Socialist Youth Union of Sri Lanka (SYU), Eranga Gunasekara, delivered to the Ambassador of Cuba, Juana Elena Ramos Rodríguez, a statement adopted by the youth organization in rejection of the blockade imposed by the United States government against Cuba.

In its statement, SYU highlights the courageous and determined attitude of the Cuban people against the pressures of the US government, as well as their internationalist spirit that has given their support to other peoples of the world.

The youth organization also rejected the sanctions imposed by the government of President Trump, in particular the implementation of Title III of the Helms Burton Act, which seriously affect the development of our country.

As a sign of their solidarity, those present signed a banner demanding the end of sanctions against Cuba.
