Accra, March 8, 2023: - The State Mission of Cuba in Ghana celebrated the Women's International Day at the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba in the Republic of Ghana.
Male members of the State Mission paid tribute to women in the voice of one of the secretaries of the Cuban Communist Party, Antonio Julián Menéndez, who congratulated and thanked women for the important role they play daily in society. He said women’s work is decisive in all sectors of Cuba and they are majority in such important tasks as the development programs on research and education, as well as production and basic services. He concluded by quoting Commander in Chief Fidel Castro when said: "...women are the natural workshop where life is forged. They are, par excellence, the creators of the human being. And I say this because, far from being the object of discrimination and inequality, women deserve special consideration from society".
In the Volta region, a celebration was also held in homage to the Cuban women of the State Mission in that territory.
