Mr. President,
We extend a warm welcome to the delegation of the Lebanese Republic. We acknowledge the country’s commitment to the Universal Periodic Review.
We highlight the national efforts to develop a guide to assist in the detection and follow-up of victims of trafficking in persons, which includes general and specific indicators to identify the crime and recognize those affected.
We also underscore the adoption in 2024 of the National Social Protection Strategy, which seeks to expand social protection programmes to cover the different stages of citizens’ lives.
In a constructive spirit, we recommend:
Continuing the implementation of the National Programme to Support the Most Vulnerable Families.
Continuing to channel resources toward primary health care, public laboratories, and human resources.
We wish the Lebanese Republic every success in this review and in the implementation of the recommendations it has accepted.
