The Hague, July 4th, 2025. From the Netherlands, the Cuban Association “Cuba en mi Alma” asserts that:
“The blockade against Cuba is not abstract. It kills, sickens, and impoverishes”:
“Cuba en mi Alma” condemns the US Presidential Memorandum against Cuba because it violates international law and constitutes an act of economic warfare aimed at stifling the sovereign will of a people who have decided to build their own socialist model.
The US government keeps Cuba on the list of “state sponsors of terrorism,” despite the fact that Cuba has been the victim of more than 700 terrorist acts, most of them organized from US soil, which have caused more than 3,400 deaths and 2,000 injuries. This designation has no legal or moral basis and only serves as a pretext to prevent normal credit, investment, and trade relations.
We support President Miguel Díaz-Canel, who denounced this measure as a desperate attempt to subdue the Cuban people through hunger and misery, warning that the blockade has become an act of silent genocide. He recalled that Cuba has resisted more than six decades of siege, and that no aggression can defeat the dignity, creativity, and resistance of a nation that does not surrender. “They want us to surrender, and they will find us standing,” he said.
From our trench of solidarity, we denounce this new offensive by Trump and imperialism. We demand the immediate and unconditional lifting of the criminal blockade, an end to financial persecution, and the removal of Cuba from spurious lists.
Our commitment to the Cuban Revolution is stronger than ever, because it is a commitment to the Cuban people and their desire to build peace and sovereignty as an alternative to the capitalist system.
Cuba is not alone.
Homeland or Death!
We shall overcome!
