Statement by the delegation of Cuba during the Universal Periodic Review of Seychelles

Mr. President,

We warmly welcome the delegation of Seychelles and recognize the country’s commitment to the Universal Periodic Review.

We positively value the adoption, in 2022, of the Home Care Agency Act, aimed at ensuring the safe and adequate provision of home care services for older persons, persons with disabilities, and others in need of such care.

In a constructive and respectful spirit, we make the following recommendations:

1. Continue advancing in the implementation of the Early Childhood Development Act.
2. Continue implementing the National Health Strategic Plan (2022–2026), in order to increase life expectancy and maintain positive maternal and child health outcomes.
3. Continue intensifying national efforts to guarantee the right to education of children with disabilities.

We wish Seychelles success in this review and in the implementation of the accepted recommendations.
