Mr. President,
We extend a warm welcome to the delegation of Somalia. We recognize the country’s commitment to the Universal Periodic Review and the progress achieved during the last period in the promotion and protection of human rights.
We commend the national efforts to implement the National Social Protection Policy, which establishes a system to support vulnerable populations.
In a constructive and respectful spirit, we make the following recommendations:
1. Continue implementing the Education Sector Strategic Plan (2022–2026), through which free primary education is provided.
2. Continue promoting international cooperation initiatives to implement projects with an impact on human rights.
3. Continue the implementation of the Third National Health Sector Strategic Plan (2022–2026), in order to promote universal health coverage and the expansion of health services throughout the country.
We wish Somalia success in this review and in the implementation of the accepted recommendations.
