STATEMENT
The Greek Committee for International Democratic Solidarity (EEDDA) strongly denounces and condemns the recent provocation, orchestrated by the US government in close collaboration with the Cuban-American mafia and carried out by small counterrevolutionary groups that live in Cuba and are financed by the United States.
The signs of this provocation had started long ago with the small "protests" in front of Ministries and with the same slogans of "freedom", "democracy", "human rights" and - look! - the confrontation of the pandemic, that had been oversized by the media, social media, etc. in the service of imperialism. This time, the provocation easily crossed the borders of Cuba and, even the media of our country, which does not deal much with the situation in this Caribbean country, presented the distorted ones, as demonstrated below, images of Cuban streets.
The proud response of the Cuban people did not wait, it came at the same time as the counterrevolutionary protests. Thousands of men and women of the people, the youth, the mass organizations went out en masse and organized to the streets to support the Revolution and its conquests. The Cuban people demonstrated once again that they are organized, decisively and armed people and are not victims of such aggressive plans and acts. Since the triumph of the Revolution in 1959, he has faced many provocations, attacks, slander.
The situation in Cuba is not easy. The more than 60 years of economic, commercial and financial blockade, which under the Trump administration has become even worse and is now applied by the Biden government, together with the pandemic, have created great problems for the Cuban people. And despite that, it continues to lend its internationalist solidarity to all the peoples that need it, firstly in the health sector with the famous medical missions to all continents, while they have already developed 5 vaccines against COVID 19, one of the which are intended for children. Vaccines that you are sure will not save only Cuban lives, but also African, Asian, Latin American lives.
The plans of imperialism will not pass. Interventions of all kinds by the United States and the European Union that "care" about "freedom" and "democracy" and at the same time slaughter their own peoples when they protest, are doomed to failure. The Cuban people are determined to make them fail. At his side he has the unconditional support of the solidarity movement of the peoples of the world.
