Statement of the JCFA In Support of Army General and leader of the Cuban revolution Raul Castro

Revolutionary Cuba has an inviolable right to its existence as a sovereign nation, like all the other countries within the United Nations (UN)

A right which is further strengthened by law and specifically Article 51 of the charter of UN, which gives states the Right to Self Defense.

Additionally, it's civilian arm, International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) makes it abundantly clear, that aircraft used for purposes that are not compatible with civilian status, loses the protection normally afforded in civil aviation.

What therefore gives the US empire the right to afforded onto itself powers to trample on international law, that allowed the anti- Cuba exile group Brothers to the Rescue to violate Cuban airspace 25 times between 1994-1996. Further, despite repeated demands to the Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) and US State Department for a cessation of these unlawful activities, our sister country's demands were ignored.

Made more egregious in a situation where the aircrafts were involved in a virulent campaign of espionage, propaganda and provocation.

Given that background, what therefore would any self- respecting country do, to protect and defend the inalienable rights of its citizens.

The hypocrisy and double standards of the empire is as clear as night follows day, as the world have witnessed an 'orgy' of its self - defensive actions to include, military interventions, invasions, assassination, drone strikes, kidnapping, all in the name of protecting its national security.

Against our sister country, there is an international criminal indictment that the US empire need to answer which includes a 6-decades plus genocidal blockade, 3748 Cubans killed, 2099 injured, in acts of sabotage, military invasion, biological warfare, mid- air terrorist explosion and assassination.

The attempt by the current neo- fascist leadership of the White House to indict army general and leader of the Cuban revolution Raul Castro for a self- defensive action which took place 3 decades ago is in the first instance, a desperate act of criminalizing Cuba's sovereignty and secondly to manufacture a reason to carry out a military action against a 'fugitive' from US justice.

We call on progressive humanity to take a stand for Cuba in whatever way you find necessary and possible, as the only threat that our sister island pose to the empire, is that it provides a living example, that there is another way to human development which places the people at the centre and not crony and gangster capitalism which is the bane of the US empire.
