Mr President, we extend a warm welcome to the Special Rapporteur,
We warmly welcome the Special Rapporteur and take due note of her report, including her conclusions and recommendations.
We reiterate Cuba's commitment to her mandate and to the process of drafting and adopting a United Nations declaration on the right to international solidarity. We thank the rapporteur for her efforts in this regard.
We agree that it is important for civil society organisations to have a voice in global efforts to promote international solidarity, without being discriminated against or stigmatised.
Dear Mr President
We denounce the unjustified retention of Cuba on the US list of states that allegedly "support" terrorism. This measure undermines international solidarity. We demand that the United States remove Cuba, once and for all, from this list.
Instead of punitive mechanisms and the application of unilateral coercive measures, international solidarity and cooperation should be prioritised and promoted as practical, viable and sustainable mechanisms for addressing human rights challenges.
Thank you for your attention.
