Statement from the Leonard Tim Hector Memorial Committee on the Sixtieth anniversary of the Cuban Revolution
On behalf of the Leonard Tim Hector Memorial Committee (LTHMC) we would like to extend to the Government and people of Cuba fraternal greetings on the sixtieth anniversary of your Revolution.
Your glorious uprising and overthrow of a brutal and repressive regime by the Cuban people under the indomitable leadership of Fidel Castro Ruz has fundamentally changed the landscape of Cuba resulting in the political, economic and social development of the Cuban society and particularly the masses. Your enormous struggle and sacrifice over those years have helped to bolster and provide a catalyst for progressive peoples and countries globally.
We in the Leonard Tim Hector Memorial Committee take this opportunity to thank you for the international Solidarity and support you have demonstrated and given to various countries and millions of people worldwide. This was done especially when the Government and people of Cuba made the supreme sacrifice by giving of their blood and lives in defeating Colonialism and Apartheid in Southern Africa. For this we will ever be grateful.
On this occasion the LTHMC reiterates its support and solidarity with the Cuban Government and People in your forward march against all forms of oppression as represented by Imperialism, Colonialism and Neo-Colonialism on your sixtieth anniversary.
We call again for an end to the illegal blockade of Cuba just as the world community has done yearly at the United Nations.
Long live the Cuban Revolution. Forward to Victory.
