We strongly condemn the shameful attempt by the United States to undermine the resolution that Cuba is submitting to the United Nations.
For nearly six decades, Cuba has suffered under the severe economic, commercial, and financial sanctions imposed by the United States. For almost 30 years, Cuba has appealed to the United Nations General Assembly, submitting an annual resolution calling for an end to this unjust blockade".
Each, year', the international community has overwhelmingly supported Cuba's cause" In 2024 the resolution to lift the U.S. sanctions has approved by 187 member states with only the United States and Israel voting against, and Moldova abstaining. This repeated global rejection has exposed the hypocrisy of a power that portrays itself as a global guardian of democracy and human rights, yet continues to punish a small island nation for asserting its independence.

Unable to bear the moral defeat of facing near-universal opposition, the United States has now resorted to spreading falsehoods and slander about Cuba and pressuring or intimidating certain UN member states in an attempt to sway the upcoming vote on October 28 and 29.
We categorically condemn this cowardly and unethical behavior. Such actions contradict the principles of human dignity and sovereign equality that the United Nations is meant to uphold.
We urge all member states of the United Nations to stand firm in defense of justice, to support the Cuban resolution, and to reject any manipulation aimed at undermining it. By doing so, the international community will reaffirm the right of every independent nation to determine its own path, free from coercion or external interference.
Defeating this act of political aggression is not only Cuba ‘struggle-it is a matter of
the moral conscience of the world.
