Strong message of solidarity with Cuba from Pakistani trade union organization calls for an end to the blockade and for Cuba to be removed from the list of state sponsors of terrorism.

Islamabad, November 5, 2024 _ The All Pakistan Federation of United Trade Unions (APFUTU) sent this week to the Cuban embassy a strong message of solidarity and support to our country, in which it demands the immediate end of the blockade and the exclusion of the island from the list of State Sponsors of Terrorism.

In the text received at the diplomatic mission, the leadership of the trade union organization recognizes that ‘the problems of the electricity system in Cuba are caused by the US blockade’, a policy that prevents the island from obtaining the materials and supplies necessary to repair and renew its energy infrastructure, as well as the fuel necessary to generate electricity. It further states that ‘we stand with Cuba and its people in the struggle to lift all measures of the barbaric imperialist blockade’.

In addition, the APFUTU - a trade union federation, created in 1992 and based in the city of Gujrat - sends its condolences to the people affected by the passage of Hurricane Oscar in eastern Cuba, a natural disaster that caused numerous human and material damages in that region.
